Networking Showcase
Often hosted by local businesses or organizations, these free evening events include casual networking with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, and they attract business professionals from across Long Island.

LIA's membership receptions have come a long way. These new and improved networking opportunities, taking place at new times, 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. or 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. on alternating months, are great avenues for information sharing. Participants bring company literature and plenty of business cards.

Through committee involvement, members can directly influence LIA programs and positions on local, state and federal issues. Current active committees include: Building and Real Estate, Education, Energy/Environment, Health, Insurance, Not-for-Profit, Retail, Small Business, Tax Policy, Tourism, Transportation, and World Trade.

Business Before Hours
If you're too busy to leave the office at five o'clock, join other members for these networking events before work. Held at LIA headquarters from 8:00 to 9:30 a.m., these free events offer LIA members the opportunity to exhibit their products or services to hundreds of potential customers, exchange business cards and generate invaluable contacts.

Executive Breakfasts
These morning breakfast/networking meetings often feature prominent business leaders and elected officials speaking about timely and important issues that affect the Long Island community. Past speakers include Senator Charles Schumer and Congressman Rick Lazio. Executive breakfasts, generally held five times a year at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury, often attract more than 1,000 LIA members and guests.

Business After Hours
These unique networking opportunities for members have been described as Long Island's largest mini-trade shows. Held at various area hotels from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. weeknights, these events offer business professionals across Long Island the opportunity to expand their client base.
